Charred Life: Roun and Denon

Originally I meant to draw a scene where Roun is apprehensively watching Denon, Arvis, and Clen as they walk by, goofing off in their friend ways.
But I got kinda lazy... to the extent that I was reluctant to shade it - and... it became a little more dark than that

Shoutout to BobbyJoeXForgottenSB for helping me out with the shading/lighting for my characters!! She did a superb job. Tysm!!  >w< _{(Let me know when you want those pages linearted ^^)}

Oh, but I did shade everything else. : D That was fun. Fuzzystatic is one of my favourite brush effects.

I guess this drawing explains a bit of the relationship between Roun and Denon.

Part of the backstory of Charred Life, my story, is that two clans, the Acor and the Nanrot, have been in conflict over the possession of a powerful relic, called the Shadow Mirror.  Roun lives with the Acor while Denon comes from the Nanrot.

The conflicts have usually ended with lives lost on either side, and Denon lost his friend and his brother when he was 10 y.o. which left him with an emotional scar.
Over time he seemed to get better.... only it was Denon trying to keep his feelings in so as not to trouble his friends and family.... unsuspecting, the darkness has been building up in him until he can't hide it with a smile anymore.

In Arc 2, of the story, Roun and Denon encounter each other at school, and Denon realises Roun is much like his brother. It opens up the ache Denon thought he had closed.

Meanwhile, Roun's feelings are conflicted.
He lost a close friend in the war as well, but watching Denon, he sees the guy is suffering more than he is.
What can you do to help when they think you personally killed their family?

I haven't drawn Roun that often (despite the fact that he's the MC lol "What, he's the main character?" ), but I've always been somewhat dissatisfied with his hairstyle. ._.
Been experimental here and there with it... and decided to make it slightly longer. :-D Now he's got a little ponytail sticking out the back of his head. He might cut it during the story, but I like it like that for now.
